The specialized planning for the utilization of underground space in regions directly governed by Guian New District is prepared to promote the efficient, reasonable and orderly development and utilization of underground space resources of Guian New District and coordinate the development and utilization of urban underground space with the development of the city. This planning covers a total land area of about 470 km2 and proposes the strategy and objectives for the development of underground space based on the concepts of great city, traffic leading and ecological harmony. The planning conducts demand measurement of the development capacity of the underground space in scientific ways and provides adjustment and integration advice for the underground space of Guian New District from four major aspects of underground commercial and public service facilities, underground traffic systems, underground municipal facilities and underground civil-air defense.
