Located at the southern center of Huadu District of Guangzhou, Guangzhou North Station is used for CRH, intercity railway, ordinary railway and metro and is the largest air-rail combined comprehensive traffic hub. This design covers a total land area of 10 square kilometers with Guangzhou North Station as the center, extended to Yingbin Road to the north, Jianshe Road to the east, Xinjie Road to the south and Tianma River to the west. With “3D city, vigorous river, interweaved city and diversified culture” as the design concept, 3D development is planned with traffic hub as the core to build a  station area of international commerce and leisure on one hand, Huadu vigorous and leisure river is created through adjustment some commercial, leisure and tourism land to the river side on the other hand. At the same time, the concept of interweaving city is applied in the planning to protect culture relic, transform characteristic urban block, respect and rebuild street style, integrate and build new characteristic urban blocks containing lingnan culture, European culture and modern fashion and leisure culture so as to create Guangzhou North Station area into an international first-rate air-railway gateway centered by the traffic hub and supported by TOD development mode and into a new district of urban garden that has the most potential of commerce and business, vigor of tourism and leisure and glamour of lingnan culture in Guangzhou and even the South China.
