The commencement of three interurban railways within Zhengzhou City in 2010 indicates the beginning of interurban railway construction.

     There are 6 interurban railways in Zhengzhou in total, with a total length of 453 km. The construction of interurban railways is very important for enhancing the central city place of Zhengzhou and creating central China city agglomeration half-hour economic circle, etc.

     The characteristics of interurban railways are studied for this plan, and so are the leading role of interurban railways in the economy along them and operation way of interurban railways. The planning concept of “rail the cities along interurban cities, and urbanize the areas along rails” is proposed to raise the utilization values of the lands around railways through overhaul planning, centralization of management, overall development, etc for the purpose of leading the society, economic and environment values growth around, and bringing new vitality for the economic growth of Central China.
